The Australian Ballet is going on tour with a program of classical favourites and exciting new works.
Performed by students of The Australian Ballet School and members of The Australian Ballet company, On Tour will captivate audiences in Ballarat. The program will showcase highlights from our extensive repertoire, including Act II of The Nutcracker (adapted by Paul Knobloch), the delicate yet powerful Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux by George Balanchine, and two world premieres - Stephanie Lake’s Chrysalis and Sandra Parker’s We Dance.
This unforgettable experience is perfect for both existing ballet lovers and those discovering the joy of ballet for the first time.
CLASS ON TOUR
Get up close and personal with the extraordinary dancers of The Australian Ballet ahead of their performance. Every morning, six days a week, the dancers take class to reach new heights of technical excellence and maintain peak fitness. This is your chance to experience a unique behind-the-scenes view of their training, with insightful commentary from the company’s Artistic Staff. This free event provides entertainment for the public and invaluable tips and insights for aspiring dancers.

YOUTH MASTERCLASS
Join The Australian Ballet for a special class as part of The Nutcracker Act II and other works tour. Led onstage by the Artistic Staff of The Australian Ballet, students in Ballarat will have the chance to refine their skills and learn techniques used by the company’s own dancers to improve alignment and movement.
These non-syllabus classes are suitable for ages 13–18 with a minimum of Grade Six ballet experience.
Please note: all participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the workshop.
Venue: Her Majesty’s Theatre Ballarat
Date & Time: Saturday 25 July, 4:30-5:45pm
Student Experience: Dance students aged 13-18 (min. intermediate/grade 6 ballet experience)
Class Size: 15-20 per session (capped at 25 students total)
Duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes
Participation: Enrolments required, costs apply ($30 per participant). Register via Youth Masterclass
