Kinky Boots is the big-hearted musical extravaganza that won six Tony’s including Best Musical, the GRAMMY Award for Best Musical Theatre album and London’s Olivier Award for Best Musical. Kinky Boots features a joyous score by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, and a hilarious, uplifting book by four-time Tony winner, Harvey Fierstein. Billy Porter won a Best Actor Tony Award for his portrayal of Lola.
Charlie Price has reluctantly inherited his father’s shoe factory, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Trying to live up to his father’s legacy and save his family business, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola, a fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos. Lola turns out to be the one person who can help Charlie become the man he’s meant to be. As they work to turn the factory around, this unlikely pair find that they have more in common than they realised… and discover that when you change your mind, you can change your whole world. Kinky Boots is the ultimate story of acceptance. Sometimes the best way to fit in, is to stand out.

Charlie Price
Liam has been a part of the music theatre community in Ballarat for nine years, performing in Rock of Ages (Ensemble), Wicked (Boq), Jesus Christ Superstar (Simon, U/S Jesus), Jekyll & Hyde (Spider), Les Misérables (Enjolras) and Mamma Mia (Eddie).
Liam’s love of theatre has lead him to play in the orchestra pit for We Will Rock You, The Sound Of Music, Heathers, Annie, and Choral/Music Director for BLOC Music Theatre’s Newsies.
Liam has also performed overseas at Universal Studios and Disneyland in America. Currently Liam is training with Jason Wasley at Ballarat Vocal Studio learning classical voice. Liam is also the Studio Manager and Guitar, Vocal and Saxophone teacher at Sound-Check Studios focusing on contemporary styles of performance, enjoying every day that he spends helping others achieve their goals.
Charlie Price has been a dream role for Liam ever since first seeing Kinky Boots and he would like to thank his partner Carlie and son Bowie for all of the love and support they have given over the course of this incredible journey.

Matthew Bandy
Lola/Simon
Matthew is delighted to step into the heels of Lola in this dazzling production of Kinky Boots. Matt has appeared in Ballarat Lyric Theatre’s productions of Rock of Ages, Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Misérables, We Will Rock You, and Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
In 2023, Matt took on a lead role in American Idiot (Horsham Arts Council), a performance that cemented their love for bringing powerful and complex characters to life.
As someone with ADHD and dyslexia, stepping into a leading role like Lola holds special significance for Matt. Theatre has always been a space to embrace challenges and transform them into opportunities for growth and creativity. Bringing the bold, vibrant, and unapologetically fabulous Lola to life is a dream come true. This role resonates deeply, celebrating themes of self-expression, acceptance, and the courage to be authentic. Matt hopes this performance inspires others to embrace their individuality and find strength in their unique journeys. Thank you for joining us for this extraordinary story of love, acceptance, and fabulous footwear!

Elizabeth Hardiman
Pat
Liz has played on stages regularly in and around Ballarat since she was 11 years old. Now, with some borrowed wisdom and a few more years under the belt (cough), she happily admits that music theatre is not just a phase of her youth, rather a life-long passion and motivator.
Stage families created by theatre experiences have resulted in life-long friendships and treasured memories for her. She loves comedy, drama, music and dress-ups. All of which are delivered in abundance through this dazzling collaboration between Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein.
Kinky Boots speaks to her fervor for themes of diversity, acceptance and love. Above all, Liz thanks her lucky stars for the opportunity to tread the boards with her beloved Shane and Ned. She is incredibly proud of them both, and indeed the entire company for their determination and commitment to bringing this important story to regional audiences.
