There’s something quietly powerful about a hometown stage, especially one that has stood at the centre of a community for over 150 years. Her Hometown is a curated concert series where we turn our stage outward, creating space for local artists to headline rather than playing support for touring acts. Her Hometown is both a celebration of Ballarat’s deep musical roots and a statement about its future. It’s about recognising the calibre of artists who call the region home and giving them the spotlight they deserve.
Our first Her Hometown concert celebrates legendary Ballarat band Epicure as they launch their new album ‘Evenings in Honduras’. The band will be playing material from their extensive back catalogue, as well as songs featured on the new album.
The first single ‘Is There Any Way Out Now?' is released on Friday June 5, the film clip for which was shot on the hallowed stage at Her Maj. Epicure will be joined on stage by several guests and their friends The Dead Salesmen and Daisy Kilbourne will be the supports for the evening.
Join us for this very special, never to be repeated performance by Epicure.
EPICURE BIO
From 1996 to 2008, Epicure released four albums, sold out shows across Australia, and toured with acts including Powderfinger, Silverchair and John Butler Trio. Their second album The Goodbye Girl was a Triple J favourite, with three songs landing in the Hottest 100, while Armies Against Me reached the ARIA Top 100 and #21 in 2003. Tightrope Walker followed in 2005, marking their fourth Hottest 100 entry.
The original trio of Juan Alban, Tim Bignell, and Dom Santamaria return with new single Is There Any Way Out Now? and their upcoming album Evenings in Honduras (out 21 August 2026). This latest album is their strongest to date, drawing on influences from The Smiths, R.E.M. and Paul Simon, the record blends ‘80s and ‘90s sounds and is produced by Cam McKenzie (Mark Seymour and the Undertow) and mixed by Dave Manton (Luluc, Jen Cloher, The Hello Morning).
