HER MAJESTY'S THEATRE CORPORATE PLAN
VISION
Business Unit: To operate pre-eminent performing
arts facilities (Dictionary definition - Pre-eminent = distinguished
beyond others in some qualities).
Board: The Her Majesty's Theatre Board of Management
is proactive in providing strategic guidance to the City of
Ballarat for the operation and development of its performing
arts facilities and programs.
MISSION
Business Unit: To operate performing arts facilities
to an exemplary high standard; to promote excellence in our
programs; and to enhance the growth and development of the
performing arts within the community.
Board: The Her Majesty's Theatre Board of Management
and Staff together will actively encourage and foster the
participation in, and appreciation of, the performing arts
by the community through the continuing development of quality
facilities and programs;
and they will protect, maintain and promote the City's performing
arts heritage.
Goals
1. To actively participate in, and provide leadership
for, the development of performing arts and culture strategies
within the City of Ballarat.
2. To maximise the use of the City's performing arts facilities.
3. To present quality, diverse theatrical programs which entertain
and educate.
4. To cultivate interest in the performing arts within the
community by encouraging participation.
5. To establish and operate within a viable Annual Budget.
6. To create and implement strategies to enhance the opportunities
available for local performing arts groups and organisations.
Funding Sources
Operations of the Her Majesty's Theatre
Business Unit are funded by the City of Ballarat.
An annual grant from the Arts Victoria Touring
Victoria program for presenting professional productions at
Her Majesty's Theatre is received.
Income generation from Theatre hires and the
presentation of entrepreneurial activities is in the vicinity
of $650,000 annually in 2002. Operating Expenditure, not including
Capital Works, is in the vicinity of $1million in 2002.
